Unique Perspectives on Social Media-Twitter and Facebook
I’ve recently re-discovered a great network marketer, Natalie Stahl of Platinum 7. Her website has some great free training, and a refreshing, slightly different take on some of the training and content that’s out there. Her underlying motivation in her training is “wanting you to be the best you can be”.
Natalie has a great, free training call on her site, “Getting Real Results from Social Media Part 1″. On it she covers Twitter and Facebook and the do’s and don’ts while using those tools in your marketting Here are a few of the points that I thought had a unique perspective:
Even though Facebook and Twitter can have a “party” atmosphere at times, there are some etiquette guidelines Natalie suggests. Just as in an actual party/social setting, you would not just walk up to someone and say, “Hi, let’s do business”, we should NOT do that online either.
She reminded us that we are still interacting with people. Think of talking to one person at a time. We should be engaging in converstion other than business, because people buy people, not stuff.
On Twitter, Natalie’s rule is about 80% of tweets should be valuable content and 20% sales pitch. She also advocates quality of tweets, rather than a barrage of pitches. Nobody particularly likes the person who constantly talks, without listening.
Remember, if we have a long term business perspective, we want to create a loyal following. One of her comments that struck me was this: “Imagine you are in a room filled with all the people who bought something from you. Now if that thought terrifies you, perhaps you need to look at your approach to marketing”.
How’s that for an integrity check??
Thanks, Natalie. Here’s the link to Natalie’s site: http://www.nataliestahl.com/training/
